CI SPORTS ACADEMY
The Cook Islands Sports Academy (CISA) provides a sports based programme at the post secondary education level. CISA is accredited to teach the Level 2 and 3 New Zealand National Certificate in Sport. In the long term the objective of CISA is to deliver this programme up to Level 5.
The course is targeted at youngsters between the ages of 16-20 and offers the opportunity to secure semi professional careers in rugby league or rugby union.
CISA started with the Rarotonga Sports Academy in 2006 and has extended its branch to a school in the outer island of Aitutaki.
The Rarotonga Sports Academy also delivers the Te Uki Tumanava, a trades based programme for youth at risk. This programme will help to empower young boys with the skills and education they need in life.
