What We're About
Welcome to our website where you can find out more about the Cook Islands Department of Resources Development (DNHRD).
Our vision:
To improve the quality and relevance of and access, to tertiary education and vocational skills training through strengthening the coordination and facilitation of skills training, quality assurance or tertiary providers and the effective management of resources that support tertiary education and training in the Cook Islands.
We have information about:
- Student assistance funds for Cook Islanders studying at their own costs in country or overseas
- Overseas and in country scholarship programmes in collaboration with donor partners for Cook Islanders
- Current courses such as Carpentry and Automotive Engineering and upcoming courses on offer at our Cook Islands Trade Training Center (CITTC)
- Current and upcoming courses on offer at our national Hospitality & Tourism Training Center (HTTC)
- Information about the Association of Cook Islands Tertiary Institutes (ACITI)
- Infomation about the accreditation of ACITI facilities and courses delivered to meet New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) standards.

Applications sort for Short Term Training awards to NZ
Applications are now open for Short term training awards to New Zealand. The STTA is for employers or self employed persons in the private, public, NGO and other sectors within the Cook Islands who wish to develop staff skills through short term training attachments. This can include placements in workplaces or training organizations, and/or new course studies such as part-time study, single-paper study, or certificate or diploma courses. Search for 2011 resident Cook Islanders/PR graduates or graduands
Have you completed a tertiary or vocational qualification in 2011? DNHRD will be holding its 2012 Graduation Ceremony for students who have completed qualifications in 2011 with the Association of Cook Islands Tertiary Institutes. This includes students from HTTC and CITTC. The ceremony will be held at the National Auditorium on Friday 27 January 2012 at 3pm.
